Recommended Age 6+. Groups small to large.
Best with 8–12 players, ages 8–12. It also works for 4–16 players aged six and up. At the sweet spot, there are enough people for proper teams, plenty of action and nobody waiting around for a turn.
You know your players, your space, your gear and which one of them needs watching. We do not. The screen can't replace your supervision.
It works with the space you got
A room. A group. An occasion. You got the blasters, you got the darts. Add a TV or projector and a laptop with a browser, and you can 1UP any blaster party.

Not a parent? Still works.
But you got blasters, right? Perhaps it's time for a 1UP blaster session.
- Camps and youth groups
Run it Tuesday. Run it again Thursday with a completely different set of kids. Nothing to reset, nothing to re-explain.
- Schools, churches, clubs
No equipment budget. No rehearsal. Nobody on staff who has to become The Person Who Owns This.
- Teams
It is the end of the season and everyone is tired of pizza. Do this instead.
You have the space and you got the crowd.
Recruit the "Agents of Mischief".
So you're committed. Here's what you need.
Pretty short and sweet. We did all the hard work for you. Here is the whole list.
- Darts. Then more darts.
Buy new, buy deep. Seriously, they are cheap by the hundred and you will lose a third of them in the grass, the hedge, a gutter and somebody's shoe. Plan on picking up, not on running out.
- Blasters, secondhand and mismatched
Marketplace. Garage sales. Every house with a teenager in it is quietly trying to get rid of a crate. Not one child in history has cared that the blasters do not match.
- Start hoarding boxes
Two weeks out, stop flattening the cardboard. Boxes, garden chairs, a wheelie bin, the cooler. Anything they can dive behind. A flat empty lawn is the only way to make this boring, and you are not going to do that.
- Red and blue pinnies, if you like
The TV draws the teams and puts them up on screen, which keeps players in the game. Cheap color-coded vests mean no one has to ask. They can sub in for a flag.
- Eye protection. Worth it.
Every Game included is non-contact and every one of them assumes eyes are covered. This is the one line on this list with nothing funny attached to it. Cover those eyes.
- Single-shot blasters, as the party bag
Cheap by the handful and they double as the favour. They are also exactly the right tool for Golden: one dart, one life, no second chances. The thing they take home is also a Game.
What people have said
It was easier, and we used the extra budget for more blasters.

Right. Go and get the darts.
An event production that runs itself so you can take photos. Isn't that what 1UP-ing is all about? Pics or it didn't happen?
