Bomb. Arm it, hold the site.
Hold 5 seconds to arm. Then defend it for the fuse — 30, 60, 90 seconds, your call — while the other team holds 10 seconds to defuse.
- Press anywhere on the screen to arm or defuse
- The beeps speed up as time runs out
Terminal. Take the point, take it back.
Hold for 5 seconds to claim the point for red or blue. The screen changes to your team’s color. Defend it before the other team takes it back.
Now give it a game.
Questions before you put a phone on the ground.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Open it in your phone or tablet’s browser.
What do I need?
A spare phone or tablet with a browser. Add it to the home screen and it opens full-screen like an app. Once it has loaded it runs offline, so a garden with no signal is fine.
How does the Bomb mode work?
Hold the key for 5 seconds to arm the charge. Then the attackers defend it for the fuse — 30, 60, 90 seconds, your pick — while the other team holds the key for 10 seconds to defuse. The beep closes in under thirty seconds and again under ten.
How does the Terminal mode work?
Red or blue holds their key for 5 seconds to take the point. The screen turns their colour. The other team holds to hack it back, and the fight goes on until somebody calls it.
Does it need the TV or the party kit?
No. Beacon runs on its own, without a TV or party kit.
Is it safe to put on the ground?
Use a case and a flat spot out of the direct line of fire. Players can press anywhere on the screen.
