Most parties just drift off toward the snack table. This one gets a ceremony. A pink screen, raining applause, and one name in letters as tall as the TV: Kyle, Chaos Agent, for “glorious unpredictability.”

Then The End, over a rain-soaked alley and a burst of confetti, with the night totted up underneath: one game, seven minutes, six agents. Nobody kept score, and the TV says so. Headquarters gets the last word, and it leaves the door open: “The programme is complete. The party is not.”
